Data Protection People are committed to respecting your privacy; therefore, we have issued this privacy notice for you to understand who we are, why and how we will use your personal data. Data Protection People is a data governance consultancy business. We help organisations to comply with the data protection law and cyber security standards.

How We Collect Your Personal Data
Your information was purchased from a third party called Cognism. For more information about how Cognism collects and uses personal data, you can view their privacy policy here.

Use of personal data
DPP processes your personal data for the purposes of prospecting our services to your organisation through you. We may also use your personal information to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, develop our marketing strategy and for product development purposes.

Lawful basis for processing
Your personal data has been processed by DPP under the lawful basis of legitimate interests as it is in our interest to market our services to you.

Categories of Recipients
DPP will not share any information about you with any other parties other than our data processors such as Salesforce and Microsoft who provide systems to us to store and organise our prospect and customer data. Whilst we have bought information about you from Cognism, we will not resell it or pass it to anyone else other than as above.

International Transfers
DPP uses Salesforce services located in Germany. The transfer of personal data to Gezmany is classed as a “restricted transfer”. However, Germany has been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection to the rights and freedoms of people. As Salesforce is headquartered in the US, this transfer is subject to US law including FISA s702.

Data Retention
DPP will hold your personal data for the length of time that we need it to undertake prospecting.

Your Rights
Under data protection law, you have the right of access to, rectification, correction and portability of personal data, to a restriction of processing and to object to processing based on a legitimate interest. You may withdraw your consent where that is the lawful basis for processing. You have the right to complain about how we are using information about you to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
