Wow, the Outsourced DPO has spent just about the entire day on Skype working through compliance challenges with a number of customers.  It’s actually really surprising how much can be done via video conferencing on MS Teams, Zoom, Uber.  Initially we were rather apprehensive about spending anymore than 15 minutes on a video call, but it is surprising how quickly you adapt – a 3-hour call flew by and was really enjoyable.  We are planning on undertaking 2 video conference-based compliance assessments in the next fortnight.  Sure, we need to adjust our approach but it is still possible to examine and test evidence of compliance and conduct interviews.  We’ll let you know how they go but expect to be able to do a perfectly through job.
