DPIAs That Actually Protect People
Data Protection Made Easy Podcast
In this live Data Protection Made Easy podcast recording, Caine Glancy and Catarina Santos explore how to run Data Protection Impact Assessments that genuinely protect people, meet regulatory expectations and embed privacy into real world projects.
Live Podcast Recording, Friday 30 January, 12:30 to 13:15
Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) are one of the most powerful tools in the GDPR toolkit, when they are done properly.
They help organisations identify and reduce risks to individuals, design safer systems and demonstrate accountability to regulators. But too often, DPIAs become tick box exercises, completed late in projects or treated as paperwork rather than meaningful safeguards.
In this live episode of the Data Protection Made Easy podcast, Caine Glancy and Catarina Santos will explore what effective DPIAs really look like in practice and how organisations can use them to genuinely protect people.
This session is ideal for DPOs, privacy professionals, compliance leads, IT teams, product owners and anyone responsible for high risk processing activities.
What We Will Cover
During the session, Caine and Catarina will discuss:
- When a DPIA is legally required and how to recognise high risk processing
- What regulators expect to see in a strong DPIA
- Common mistakes organisations make and how to avoid them
- How to embed DPIAs into project lifecycles and procurement processes
- Turning assessments into living documents rather than one off forms
- Practical tips for involving stakeholders across the business
- How DPIAs can strengthen trust with customers and partners
Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit questions and join the live discussion.
