Founder & Managing Director
Phil Brining, as the organisation operations director responsible for the delivery of all of our services. Phil has a broad range of project, operations, and consulting experience over several industries and has practiced as a data protection and information governance specialist since 2006 engaged by several multi-national organisations as well as many small to medium sized businesses and charities.
To compliment his experience Phil has an LLM masters degree in information rights law and practice and is a QSA in the field of PCI DSS. Outside of data protection and information rights law Phil enjoys dinghy sailing, skiing, camping and spending time with his family.

Dave brings over 20 years experience in business to business sales to Data Protection People as the organisations sales director and provides an undoubted passion for sales and a continuous drive to
succeed.
Dave’s passion for security and keeping his clients data secure led him into becoming one of the companies founders back in 2015. Born and raised in Leeds, Dave is a proud “Yorkshireman” who actively follows Leeds United, Leeds Rhino’s and Yorkshire Cricket.
In his spare time he is a keen squash player, although as he is married with three young children the amount of time he can devote to this hobby is reducing rapidly!

Robin Hill is a co-founder of Data Protection People and was previously the co-founder of RandomStorm, which was successfully sold to Accumli PLC in 2014.
A sales focused individual, he has an impressive track record spanning over 20 years in corporate sales across the enterprise sector for the office equipment, network services and IT security industries.
General Manager
Kathy is a Senior operational leader with a strong track record in transforming processes to improve business performance and deliver market leading customer service. Kathy has multi sector experience and broad operational expertise across Sales, Service and Quality management.
A change leader who can identify the need for change and then shape and deliver it. Kathy is our Support Desk Manager and Consultant, she is one of the main pillars of our organisations, if you know DPP, you know Kathy Midgley.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and travelling.
Data Protection Consultant
Char joined Data Protection People as a Data Protection Consultant in September 2022, bringing with her 3 years’ data protection experience from the housing sector. Char holds her Advanced Practitioners Certification in Data Protection (PC.dp.) and a BA in Drama, Theatre and Performance Arts.
Char’s role at DPP is to work closely with a wide range of clients in order to assist with their compliance to data protection legislation. This could include areas of service such as data protection training, supporting clients with the development of their policies and procedures, monitoring compliance, supporting clients with the development of their records of processing activities and providing quality advice and guidance.
In her spare time you can find Char watching some of her favourite bands at gigs, watching shows at the theatre, with her head in a fantasy novel or hanging out with her friends. Char is also an avid foodie, you can find her trying out new recipes, eating good food or hoping she hasn’t burnt her latest attempt at baking.
Data Protection Consultant
A certified GDPR Practitioner and professional working within Data Protection and Information Governance.
Consultancy experience assisting companies in various sectors to reach GDPR/DPA2018 Compliance. Experience also includes advising businesses towards meeting information security framework compliance (Cyber Essentials, NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit and ISO27001) to gain relevant accreditations. In her spare time Tracy loves to run and has competed in several long distance events.
Data Protection Consultant
Vicki joined Data Protection People as a Data Protection Consultant in August 2022 bringing with her 3 years’ experience as a DPO in the independent education sector. She is a qualified data protection practitioner having completed the CIPP/E and CIPM qualifications from the IAPP.
Vicki’s role at DPP is to work closely with clients to aid their compliance with data protection laws. This could be to help with policy and procedure creation and implementation, training, management tasks such as records of processing activities, or general advice and guidance.
In her spare time Vicki can be found chasing her toddler around a soft play centre or trying out new restaurants around Yorkshire.

Buky Adebiyi is a fascinating addition to our team, with a diverse range of qualifications and experiences. As a qualified Barrister, solicitor, and Data Protection Consultant, Buky possesses extensive knowledge in the field. Additionally, her advanced degrees in law, business administration, and human resources showcase her dedication to excellence. Buky's exceptional attention to detail and hardworking nature make her an invaluable asset. She excels in creating seamless and user-friendly journeys for our customers, simplifying the complexities of data protection compliance.
SAR Manager
Babita is a Bradford University Alumni, achieving a first-class honours Psychology and Crime degree. She ventured into the finance industry in 2019, having interest in working in financial crime and fraud however, landed a position in their Data Protection team, assisting the team with Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
Having 3+ years’ experience working in various Data Protection roles, Babita has joined DPP as the SAR Manager. Her role within the business is to ensure the SAR bureau are well managed, with client DSARs worked with meticulous care and efficiency.
In her spare time, Babita is a huge foodie who loves trying different cuisines. She also enjoys going to the gym, travelling, spending time with family and friends and singing along with her favourite singers at their concert.
Training Manager
As the Training Manager at Data Protection People, I bring over two decades of experience in various industries, specialising in training and development. My role entails designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge in data protection. Beyond my professional commitments, I have a deep-rooted love for travel, I have already embarked on countless adventures worldwide seeking opportunities to explore new countries and embrace different cultures and eagerly anticipate many more enriching journeys in the years to come
Cyber Security Consultant
In December 2022, Kene joined Data Protection People as a cybersecurity consultant, leveraging her on valuable experience as a Governance Risk and Compliance consultant. Her background includes working with multinational companies to implement international standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 22301, and PCIDSS. As an information security consultant, Kene appreciates the transformative power of robust security measures for organizations.
Kene's passion for the growing presence of women in the cybersecurity field is infectious, and she eagerly looks forward to the industry's evolution. Project Co-ordinator
Denise joined DPP in January 2018. She is our Project Co-Ordinator responsible for co-ordinating and planning all aspects of management delivery within business admin. Denise previously worked for Marks and Spencer for 32 years, she brings a wealth of experience in all areas of retail management. Outside of work Denise enjoys meeting up with friends & family, she loves yoga, walking, gardening and has a passion for reading.

Tristan Mills joins us as the new Support Desk Manager, bringing over six years of data protection experience and a genuine passion for privacy. As our support desk becomes increasingly busy, Tristan is tasked with leading the team into the future. His expertise and commitment to exceptional service ensure that our audience receives the best possible support. From regulatory inquiries to data breaches, Tristan and his team are dedicated to delivering prompt, reliable assistance to our valued clients.
Support Desk Consultant
Joe is a Leeds Beckett university alumnus. He joined Data Protection People in June 2021, shortly after graduating from his Sports Coaching degree he studied for three years. Joe gained vital skills while at university such as relationship building and problem solving.
His role within the business is to work closely with the rest of the sales team as a business development executive. The industry in which Joe prioritises is the education industry.
Joe is a huge Derby County fan and has had a season ticket since he was 3. In his spare time, he likes to DJ and produce music.
Support Desk Executive
Born and raised in Portugal, Lisbon, Catarina started her professional career at Católica Global School of Law, where she obtained a Law Degree. Catarina knew from an early age that she would like to embark on a corporate career, and decided to proceed with two post-graduate degrees "Corporate Governance" and "Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring" at the Lisbon University Law School.
Senior Business Development Manager
Rob is a tenacious and highly driven information security and data protection business development manager.
He has attained a BA Honours degree in Business Studies, achieving first class in sales management. Rob understands the fundamentals of how companies work and the criteria behind a successful relationship between customer and supplier. Having joined DPP in 2018, Rob is the longest serving member of the sales team and also came up with the idea of DPP’s ever popular Lunchtime Takeaway Series which is growing with popularity each week!
Outside of work, Rob is a big Bradford Bulls and rugby league fan.
Business Development Manager
James is an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in information security. Having worked for large, established organisations, James has developed a keen understanding of the complexities involved in delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients across a range of industries.
With a passion for helping clients solve problems, James brings a consultative approach, working closely with clients to identify their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that deliver valued outcomes. His ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to clients has earned him a reputation as a go-to point of contact.
Outside of work, James is an avid Liverpool football club fan and loves to explore his passion for food and travel. When he's not working, you'll often find him exploring new restaurants or planning his next trip abroad.
Account Manager
Jasmine has been with DPP since September 2020 and while it is her first job within the industry, she carry with her a First Class LLB to assist in her role.
Jasmine works on the Support Desk providing guidance to clients with any data protection related queries that they may have. This can range from anything between reviewing risk assessments, agreements, or procedures, to providing clients with ad hoc advice in order to improve compliance with data protection legislation within their organisation.
Outside of work, Jasmine lives by the F word… Friends, Family, Fitness, Football, and FOOD.
Digital Marketing Manager
Myles joined Data Protection People as a Business Development Manager just before the Pandemic hit in March 2020.
When he joined, the company did little to no marketing and relied on word of mouth and recommendations to attract new business. Myles took on the role of Marketing Manager in March 2021 and now manages events, webinars, and digital marketing for the whole organisation.
Outside of work Myles is a musician and an ex international Ice Hockey player. He represented Great Britain at two world championships and now plays for fun in his hometown of Bradford.
Administrator
Eve joined Data Protection People in June 2021 as a Paralegal Apprentice and has recently completed her A-Levels in Law, Sociology and English Language.
Her main role is working on the support desk, where she answers queries and provides advice to clients so that they can comply with Data Protection Legislation. She plans to progress within the company and gain further knowledge in the field of Data Protection.
In her spare time, Eve enjoys socialising, drinking, and spending her money on things she doesn’t need.
Salesforce Systems Manager
Daniel started at DPP in May 2022 bringing with him 18 months prior experience in delivery focused web development. His experience has been primarily working with healthcare-based IT solution organisations.
Daniel works as an Apprentice Salesforce Developer, assisting the various departments to improve the way that Data Protection People utilises the Salesforce platform.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys watching football and is a proud Manchester United fan. He also enjoys playing golf, going to the gym, and a good night out.

Matthew joined DPP in July 2022 as a software developer with the aim to improve the digital processes and procedures within the company which will help to manage our customer data. Outside of work Matthew enjoys working on cars as well as a variety of sports including Sailing, Climbing, Mountain biking/BMX and Athletics, specifically the pole vault. He has competed at regional and national levels winning medals at both including finishing second place at English Schools and ending the 2016 season as number 3 in the UK for his age after spending most of the year in 1st.
Paralegal Apprentice
After 2 years studying A levels at Notre Dame where he studied History, PE and Law Caine, who has now graduated from college has joined Data Protection People in July 2022.
Caine joined Data Protection People as a Paralegal Apprentice with the role of working on the support desk whilst improving his knowledge on data protection law. Previously he spent his time as a part time Rugby League player at both Leeds and Castleford at an academy level.
In Caine’s spare time you can find him in the gym or out supporting Liverpool or Leeds Rhinos
Paralegal Apprentice
Coming from Notre Dame Sixth Form College and having studied Law, History and Criminology for her A levels, Libby joined Data Protection People in July 2022.
Having been fresh out of college and having previous experience working with customers as a F&B assistant at Westwood Hall she is now taking part in our Paralegal Apprenticeship.
Libby’s role is working on the support desk, where she will be answering inquiries, providing advice which will be sent to clients so that they can abide by Data Protection Legislation.
In the future Libby would like to either pursue onto a further apprenticeship or continue with any opportunities that Data Protection People could have for her.
In Libby’s spare time she tries to keep up to the gym and spends all her money on gigs in which she normally goes with her younger sister or friends, with her favourite gigs she’s attended been Miles Kane in the 02 academy and Royal Blood at the first direct.
Paralegal Apprentice
Kaitlin joined Data Protection People in April 2022 as a Paralegal Apprentice. This is her second job within the industry as she has previous experience in a criminal injuries law firm.
She plans to progress within the company and undertake a solicitor apprenticeship in the future to continue her Law career.
Kaitlin's role is working on the support desk, where she answers queries and produces advice to send to clients so that they can comply with Data Protection Legislation.
In Kaitlin's spare time she enjoys drinking Baileys, reading and spending time with her friends, family and pets.
