Data Protection People

About Us

Our mission is to make data protection easy: easy to understand and easy to do. We do that through the mantra of benchmark, improve, maintain.

Who are Data Protection People?

Our founders have been involved in data protection for decades and came together to form Data Protection People in 2015, once it seemed likely the GDPR would come into effect.

We sensed there would be a lot of work to do to help organisations understand and apply the new data protection law. We had a strong desire to reduce the confusion and eliminate panic once people became aware of the changes.

We’ve spent the intervening years developing products and services that help people to understand data protection and to comply with the GDPR, PECR, and Data Protection Act with ease. In the process, we have built a large community of data protection practitioners all with the shared goal of making data protection easy.

Our business has gone from strength to strength since its inception placing us as one of the leading providers of data protection consultancy and services in the UK.

Cyber
Security

In 2018 we decided to branch out into providing consultancy and services in the field of cyber security. This took the business through the process of becoming a qualified security assessor (QSA) for the Payment Card Industry. We are one of only a handful to boast the title of being a QSA.

World-class
Team

One of our strengths we are often complemented on is our people. We are fortunate to have built and evolved a fantastic team of highly competent, professional and approachable colleagues from the very start.

ISO27001
Certifications

We have clients we advise about compliance with the NISRegulations, perform cyber maturity assessments and help organisations to achieve ISO27001 certification.

Our mission is to make data protection easy: easy to understand and easy to do. We do that through the mantra of benchmark, improve, maintain.

Benchmark

Getting our head under the bonnet of your organisation. Rating your compliance against that or your peers. Finding areas that need attention or that don’t meet the standards you or the law expects. Celebrating areas of excellent practice.

Improve

Helping your organisation to comply with the standards you or the law sets. Improving knowledge and behaviour. Enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and consistency.

Maintain

Establishing processes to foster a culture of continual improvement in compliance management.
