Phil Brining

Founder & Managing Director

Phil Brining, as the organisation operations director responsible for the delivery of all of our services. Phil has a broad range of project, operations, and consulting experience over several industries and has practiced as a data protection and information governance specialist since 2006 engaged by several multi-national organisations as well as many small to medium sized businesses and charities.

To compliment his experience Phil has an LLM masters degree in information rights law and practice and is a QSA in the field of PCI DSS. Outside of data protection and information rights law Phil enjoys dinghy sailing, skiing, camping and spending time with his family.

Kathy Midgley

Operations Director

Kathy is a Senior operational leader with a strong track record in transforming processes to improve business performance and deliver market leading customer service. Kathy has multi sector experience and broad operational expertise across Sales, Service and Quality management.

A change leader who can identify the need for change and then shape and deliver it. Kathy is our Support Desk Manager and Consultant, she is one of the main pillars of our organisations, if you know DPP, you know Kathy Midgley.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and travelling.

Rob Wilkinson

Business and Channel Manager

Rob is a tenacious and highly driven information security and data protection business development manager.

He has attained a BA Honours degree in Business Studies, achieving first class in sales management. Rob understands the fundamentals of how companies work and the criteria behind a successful relationship between customer and supplier. Having joined DPP in 2018, Rob is the longest serving member of the sales team and also came up with the idea of DPP’s ever popular Lunchtime Takeaway Series which is growing with popularity each week!

Outside of work, Rob is a big Bradford Bulls and rugby league fan.

Myles Dacres

Digital Marketing Manager

Myles joined Data Protection People as a Business Development Manager just before the Pandemic hit in March 2020.

When he joined, the company did little to no marketing and relied on word of mouth and recommendations to attract new business. Myles took on the role of Marketing Manager in March 2021 and now manages events, webinars, and digital marketing for the whole organisation.

Outside of work Myles is a musician and an ex international Ice Hockey player. He represented Great Britain at two world championships and now plays for fun in his hometown of Bradford.

Ross Evans 

Training Manager

As the Training Manager at Data Protection People, I bring over two decades of experience in various industries, specialising in training and development. My role entails designing and implementing comprehensive training programs to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge in data protection. Beyond my professional commitments, I have a deep-rooted love for travel, I have already embarked on countless adventures worldwide seeking opportunities to explore new countries and embrace different cultures and eagerly anticipate many more enriching journeys in the years to come

Jasmine Harrison

Account Manager

Jasmine has been with DPP since September 2020, carrying with her a First Class LLB to assist in her role.

Jasmine acquired her expertise in data protection while working on the Support Desk, offering guidance to clients on a diverse array of data protection queries. Having since transitioned to the account management role, she now closely collaborates with clients to make effective use of their contracts. Additionally, Jasmine co-hosts the Data Protection Made Easy Podcast every Friday.

Outside of work, Jasmine lives by the F word… Friends, Family, Fitness, Football, and FOOD.

Tracy Pez

Data Protection Consultant

Tracy joined Data Protection People as a Data Protection Consultant in January 2023.  Tracy has an IT and teaching background and joined DPP with 5 years experience working in the data protection field, predominately in the Healthcare sector and after completing the CIPP/E qualification and a Post Graduate Certificate in Information Rights Law.

Tracy’s role at DPP is to work closely with clients to aid their compliance with data protection legislation taking on a range of tasks from initial gap analysis assessments to documentation creation and implementation, support with completion of third party compliance assessments including the NHS Toolkit, and provision of general advice and guidance,

In her spare time Tracy loves to run, both with and without her dog having recently discovered the fun of canicross. She also loves to travel as often as she can and spend time with family and friends.

Susanne Reid

Data Protection Consultant

Susanne joined DPP as a consultant in June 2024. Susanne holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in law from Aarhus University, Denmark. Since graduating she has focused on developing her data protection expertise and brings with her 5 years of experience working in the data protection field, both for the Danish Data Protection Agency (equivalent to the ICO) and most recently as a part of Asda’s Data Protection Team.

In 2022 Susanne relocated to United Kingdom with her English husband. Being born and raised in one of the flattest countries in the world, Susanne especially enjoys exploring the stunning landscapes the UK has to offer. Outside the office Susanne is also passionate about food, family and traveling to new places.

Joe Kirk

Account Manager

Joe joined DPP back in 2021 fresh out of university after achieving a first in Sports Coaching.

Joe started as business development executive, before moving across to the support desk in October 2022 where he learned and honed his craft on UK data protection law.

In March 2024, Joe moved over to Account Management, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge gained from working with some of our biggest clients whilst a member of the support desk. Joe is also one of the 3 co-hosts of the Data Protection Made Easy Podcast that we host every Friday.

Joe is a huge Derby County fan and has had a season ticket since he was 3. In his spare time, he likes to DJ, produce music and spend time with his mates – partial to a Guinness or two!

Kenechi Obetta

Cyber Security Consultant

In December 2022, Kene joined Data Protection People as a cybersecurity consultant, leveraging her on valuable experience as a Governance Risk and Compliance consultant. Her background includes working with multinational companies to implement international standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 22301, and PCIDSS. As an information security consultant, Kene appreciates the transformative power of robust security measures for organizations.

Kene’s passion for the growing presence of women in the cybersecurity field is infectious, and she eagerly looks forward to the industry’s evolution. Kene believes that with tenacity, a network of supportive allies, and an innovative mindset, one can transcend barriers and make a lasting impact in the ever-changing world of cybersecurity and GRC consulting.

Catarina Santos

Junior Consultant

Catarina became a part of DPP in January 2023, bringing over three years of experience as a Paralegal in Portugal, specialising in real estate, corporate, civil, and employment law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Portuguese law, along with a master’s degree in law and technology.

Motivated by a desire for professional growth, Catarina made the decision to relocate to the United Kingdom and join DPP with a clear objective—to evolve into a Data Protection Officer.

Beyond her legal expertise, Catarina leads a dynamic life outside the office. She is passionate about food and likes to try new restaurants, travel around the world, meet new people, going to the beach and watching comedy series.

Caine Glancy

Support Desk Team Leader

After 2 years studying A levels at Notre Dame where he studied History, PE and Law Caine, who has now graduated from college has joined Data Protection People in July 2022.

Caine joined Data Protection People as a Paralegal Apprentice with the role of working on the support desk whilst improving his knowledge on data protection law. Previously he spent his time as a part time Rugby League player at both Leeds and Castleford at an academy level.

Rofi Hendra Qasim

Graduate Data Protection Consultant

After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a Master of Laws degree in Law and Technology, Rofi joined Data Protection People with hopes of building a career in Data Privacy and Data Protection.

Rofi studied Criminal law for his undergraduate but finally found his passion in Data Privacy & Protection. He primarily works in the support desk to answer queries relating to Data Protection Compliance. His future goal is to become a Data Protection Officer.

In his spare time, Rofi enjoys playing football, supporting Liverpool FC, and travelling around the world.

Honey Evans

Trainee Data Protection Support Desk Consultant

Honey has recently joined DPP after graduating from the University of Leeds with a Degree of Bachelor of Laws. In her final year of her course, Honey achieved first class in her Cyberlaw and Data Protection module. Honey aspires to build a career in Data Protection.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dog. Honey is originally from Brighton, so she loves to explore everything that the north has to offer.

Alexandria Lungley

Business Development Executive

Alexandria joined Data Protection People in March 2024 as a Business Development Executive, specialising in selling all aspects of cyber security services. Prior to this, she spent six years working for Emirates Airline as Cabin Crew in Dubai. Alexandria brings her extensive experience of working with diverse cultures and nationalities to her new role.

Outside of work, she is a dedicated mother to two amazing children, enjoys cooking, and loves going on hikes with her kids and dogs.

Ben Steer

Business Development Executive

Ben joined Data Protection People in July 2024 as a Business Development Executive, specialising in selling data protection solutions which ensure UK GDPR compliance. He transitioned into data protection from a sales position in the financial sector and is keen to further exercise his thirst for knowledge and undertake a consultative approach to this role.

Outside of work, he is an avid martial arts enthusiast, traveller, film lover, musician and self-confessed history nerd, who loves nothing more than getting out of the house for long walks and exploring new places.

Eve Hobson

Administrator/ Digital Marketing Assistant

Eve joined Data Protection People in June 2021, following the successful completion of her A-Levels in Law, Sociology, and English Language.

Initially, she joined as a paralegal apprentice on our support desk and later transitioned to a role in business administration, where she takes on a wide range of responsibilities. Now, she embarks on an exciting new venture in marketing, alongside our marketing manager.

In her spare time, Eve enjoys travelling to new places, spending time with friends and family and splurging her money on things she doesn’t need.

Matthew Brining

Apprentice Salesforce Developer

Matthew joined DPP in July 2022 as a software developer with the aim to improve the digital processes and procedures within the company which will help to manage our customer data.

Outside of work Matthew enjoys working on cars as well as a variety of sports including Sailing, Climbing, Mountain biking/BMX and Athletics, specifically the pole vault. He has competed at regional and national levels winning medals at both including finishing second place at English Schools and ending the 2016 season as number 3 in the UK for his age after spending most of the year in 1st.

Tina Midgley

SAR Quality Assurance officer/Team leader

Tina joined Data Protection People in July 2020 as a DSAR reviewer , bringing with her managerial experience.

Her role on the DSAR Team includes, handling and reviewing incoming SARS from our clients. Tina has trained with us and has worked her way up to a QA assurance officer and recently been promoted to DSAR team leader.

In her spare time, she enjoys mediation and all things spiritual, she is also a qualified hypnotherapist, and a huge Harry potter fan.

David Hendry

Co-Founder

Dave brings over 20 years experience in business to business sales to Data Protection People as the organisations sales director and provides an undoubted passion for sales and a continuous drive to
succeed.

Dave’s passion for security and keeping his clients data secure led him into becoming one of the companies founders back in 2015. Born and raised in Leeds, Dave is a proud “Yorkshireman” who actively follows Leeds United, Leeds Rhino’s and Yorkshire Cricket.

In his spare time he is a keen squash player, although as he is married with three young children the amount of time he can devote to this hobby is reducing rapidly!

Robin Hill

Co-Founder

Robin Hill is a co-founder of Data Protection People and was previously the co-founder of RandomStorm, which was successfully sold to Accumli PLC in 2014.

A sales focused individual, he has an impressive track record spanning over 20 years in corporate sales across the enterprise sector for the office equipment, network services and IT security industries.

Andrew Mason

Co-Founder

Andrew Mason is a co-founder of Data Protection People and was previously the co-founder of RandomStorm, which was successfully sold to Accumli PLC in 2014.

Andrew is committed to ensuring that the company develops innovative security solutions to their customers.
