Data Protection People
Data Protection People are currently on the lookout for a number of people to join the team. Over the last 6 months, DPP has been going through a period of growth. Since the start of lockdown, we have been forced to create more of a digital presence, resulting in us growing a large community of data protection practitioners who all have a shared goal of making data protection easy. We have grown our subscription list to over 900 members in the last two years making our community one of the largest data protection communities in the UK.
We have a number of opportunities available here at DPP from working as a business development executive managing the relationships with our subscribers to heading up our support desk and being the go-to provider of data protection support for our huge list of clients.

The current opportunities we have available are:
Cyber Security Consultant / Full Time / £40K – £70K
Trainee Data Protection Consultant / Full Time / £22K – £27K
Data Protection Apprentice / Full Time / £16K – £20K
Business Development Executive / Full Time / £18K – £22K + Commission
Our head office is based in Leeds City Centre however we are open to considering remote workers for most of the opportunities above. As you can see, each role has a large banding in regards to salary, the reason for this is because we are open to considering individuals with little to no experience for every role other than Cyber Security Consultant. We offer a wide range of opportunities to develop and up-skill including apprenticeships, training courses and opportunities to shadow top-end data professionals who are willing to share their skills and experience.

Cyber Security Consultant
Job Purpose: The primary purpose of the role is to undertake assignments for DPP’s cyber security practice.
Person Specification: Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the PCI DSS, ISO27001, and other cyber security standards and their application in a range of organisational settings. Candidates must be able to investigate, examine, and critically analyse information security and cyber-related activities and relevant business processes and test what they find against regulatory and statutory obligations. Candidates must be confident presenters, articulate and able to explain complex scenarios in easy to understand terms. Candidates must be prepared to travel across the United Kingdom.
Trainee Data Protection Consultant
Job Purpose: To undertake a structured programme of training and dedicated guidance on a range of data protection related matters, to positively engage with substantial guided exposure to client work and learn the skills necessary to provide appropriate advice, guidance and support to our customers on data protection legal compliance.
Person Specification: Candidates should have some understanding of data protection and information rights law and its application or have studied law. Candidates must be able to grasp concepts quickly, manage competing requirements, investigate, examine, and critically analyse data protection and privacy-related activities and test what they find against regulatory and statutory obligations. Candidates ideally will have commercial acumen and must be confident presenters, comfortable with holding client meetings, articulate and able to explain complex scenarios in easy to understand terms. Candidates must be prepared to travel across the United Kingdom.
Data Protection Apprentice
Job Purpose: To provide support to our consulting team whilst developing an understanding of data protection law and practice.
Person Specification: You will need an interest in technology and data protection. You will need good problem solving and analytical skills coupled with a methodical approach to your work and good attention to detail. We look for individuals who are hardworking, passionate and friendly. Eventually, this role will land you in front of our customers in a client-facing role where you will have to be personable and helpful. Individuals who are confident communicators will be the most successful in this role.
Business Development Executive
Job Purpose: A business development role to focus on making outbound calls to new and existing prospects, developing, and maintaining strong business relationships, regularly communicating with key business executives and working to grow the existing client base.
Person Specification: The individual who joins our sales team must be self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed, you will have to be a strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team. As well as communication, your ability to listen will be one of your biggest strengths in this role as we have a wide range of products available and you will have to listen to your prospective customers to understand what product or service will fit.
