Data Protection People Bootcamp 2022
Data Protection People are hosting our first ever residential training event this year. The DPO Bootcamp is a five-day residential and will be held between the 14th and the 18th of March.
We’re hosting the Bootcamp at the Marriott in York and options for bed, breakfast and an evening meal are available.
We’ve had lots of people reaching out asking for more information so here’s what you need to know.
Day 1: You’ll work your way through the GDPR and Data Protection Act to understand where they have come from, how they are structured and how they interact. You’ll delve into the key definitions, pull apart the data protection principles and look at the case law that has influenced our current interpretations.
Day 2: Is all about information rights. You will be immersed in the detail of information rights and how to handle and manage them. You will explore exemptions to disclosure and have the chance to apply your newfound knowledge to examples and case studies.
Day 3: Looks at the obligations of controllers and processors and how to manage GDPR compliance. We’ll build records of processing activities, do DPIAs, plan an internal audit program, investigate best practice policy and procedures and more.
Day 4: Is dedicated to security and personal data breach management. You will role-play through security incidents and personal data breaches preparing you for difficult situations based on real-life experiences from our consulting business. You’ll play with some training and awareness tools and build the bones of a powerful security awareness program.
Day 5: Starts with a deep dive into the PECR focussing on direct marketing and cookies. Then we’ll recap the five days prior to you sitting our assessment.
During the course, you will be given lots of really useful tools to take back to the workplace and/or to assist with your continued education.
