Hot Topics For Hospices

Everything you need to know about our event is dedicated to helping hospices with data protection.

Hot Topics For Hospices

Join us on March the 11th for our first Hospice session of the year.

We have worked closely with the sector over the last 6 months trying to understand the key challenges and go-to solutions. after speaking to tons of DPO’s in the sector we have come up with a core list of challenges that we would like to discuss live with our community on the Data Protection Made Easy podcast.

The core questions we will cover are:

1. Difference between opting out of mailing list and removal from the database
2. Data Retention
3. Data transfer e.g., sending data offsite to 3rd parties
4. Fundraising, their communication preference
To make it even more relevant we have invited two amazing guest speakers from the sector with a third speaker to be announced in the coming weeks.

The first of our speakers is Christine Davies the Head of Supporter Giving and Data from St Christopher’s Hospice. Christine has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Data Protection within hospices and has worked for St Christophers Hospice for almost 19 years. Christine is also the Chair Of The Board for the Hospice Income Generation Network who’s mission is to secure the future of Hospice Care across the UK by providing high-quality training, development and networking opportunities.

Our second speaker is Trudi Ogden the Lottery Manager for St Ann’s which is one of the oldest and largest adult hospices outside of London. Trudi is tasked with fundraising money for the organisation, back in 2019 she led the way in revamping the charities lottery which has been running for over 25 years, developing new ways to raise money and help support the city of Manchester. St.Ann’s next fundraising event is just around the corner, it’s called Manchester Midnight Walk and will task its participants with walking 10km at midnight through the streets of Manchester to help raise money and awareness for homelessness in Manchester.

The two speakers will be joined by our amazing host Oliver Rear who has experience working with Hospices, Charities and healthcare providers as their Outsourced DPO. Oliver is the main host of Data Protection Made Easy and is one of the reasons our podcast is now the #1 Data Protection Podcast on Spotify.

As always, our sessions are completely free to join and anyone is welcome to get involved, if you would like to join over 850 Data Protection Practitioners and become part of our community where you will receive weekly invites to free online events, chances to win prizes and updates on news and changes to regulation, get in touch with one of the team or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
