On the 11th of March, we hosted our first ever tailored event for Hospices. We have worked closely with the sector over the last 6 months trying to understand the key challenges and go-to solutions. after speaking to tons of DPOs in the sector we produced a core list of topics that needed addressing. In today’s discussion, we will cover the following.

1. Difference between opting out of mailing list and removal from the database
2. Data Retention
3. Data transfer e.g., sending data offsite to 3rd parties
4. Fundraising, their communication preference

To make it even more relevant we invited two amazing guest speakers from the sector the first of whom is Christine Davies the Head of Supporter Giving and Data from St Christopher’s Hospice. Christine has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Data Protection within hospices and has worked for St Christophers Hospice for almost 19 years. Christine was also joined by our second speaker Trudi Ogden who is the Lottery Manager for St Ann’s which is one of the oldest and largest adult hospices outside of London.

The two speakers were be joined by our amazing hosts Oliver Rear and David Holmes both of whom have extensive experience in the sector themselves working with Hospices, Charities and healthcare providers as their Outsourced DPO.
