Your Role as a Data Protection Consultant
As a Data Protection Consultant, you will play a critical role in advising, supporting, and training organisations to meet data protection laws and best practices. This is a hands-on role where you will build client relationships, manage compliance projects, and contribute to the ongoing development of data protection frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Advisory & Compliance Support
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing tailored data protection services.
- Conduct audits and gap analyses to identify compliance risks and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures, including Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
- Provide expert legal advice on GDPR, PECR, and other relevant data protection regulations.
- Support clients with Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other data rights-related queries.
Documentation & Reporting
- Write professional reports, compliance assessments, and legal opinions.
- Draft and review privacy policies, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and data-sharing agreements.
- Maintain accurate client records and provide comprehensive compliance documentation.
Training & Development
- Deliver workshops and training sessions on data protection, GDPR compliance, and best practices.
- Develop educational content, including blogs, white papers, and training materials.
- Keep up to date with legal updates, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in data protection.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research into data protection regulations and legal cases.
- Provide industry insights to help organisations stay ahead of compliance challenges.
Team Collaboration & Mentoring
- Support and mentor junior consultants, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Contribute to the growth and innovation of DPP’s consultancy services.
Who We’re Looking For
- Data Protection Expertise – Proven experience in GDPR, PECR, and UK data protection laws.
- Legal & Compliance Knowledge – Strong understanding of privacy laws, audits, and risk assessments.
- Excellent Communication Skills – Ability to engage with clients, deliver training, and provide clear guidance.
- Project & Case Management – Experience handling compliance projects, policy drafting, and data protection strategy.
- Attention to Detail – Ability to write precise, high-quality reports and documentation.
- Proactive & Self-Motivated – Comfortable managing multiple projects and working independently.
