My View 3 Weeks Into Working At DPP

In my last blog I wrote about my first week working for the Data Protection People and mentioned how busy I was right from the moment I stepped foot into the office. And since then nothing much has changed! From trips to Liverpool to visit Everton FC, where I was given a tour around the entire stadium including a walk around the pitch and stepping inside the home dressing, to two days spent on site for a Housing company in Edinburgh, these last two weeks have probably seen me cover more of the UK in the rest of the years I have lived here combined!

The range of tasks has varied too. Time spent in our Leeds office conducting research, writing up advice to clients, writing up reports and designing training programmes has been mixed with trips on the road to sit and talk to directors of various businesses across several industries, some of which operate around the globe. I have shadowed Phil in one-to-one or group interviews with heads of HR, IT, Business Services, Marketing and every other imaginable department you can think of. I’ve even been allowed to conduct an interview of my own.

Time outside work has been good too. I have gotten to know the other graduates and now know my way around the lovely city of Leeds, which is a vibrant city with a thriving young community and plenty to do.
So far, so good. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to resume my preparation for next week, where I will be spending time in Weston-Super-Mare, Torquay, Oxford and Birmingham!
